    Session 1: 11:15 am – 12 pm


    Infant CPR & AED Training

    Learn the basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques, as well as how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and what to do if your child or infant is choking. Hands on practice with infant sized dolls.

    Presenter Info

    Amanda Lemke is the Public Health Specialist – Emergency Preparedness for the City of Bloomington Public Health Division, also serving the cities of Edina and Richfield. She holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Illinois – Springfield and certificates in Epidemiology, and Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security. She has over 10 years’ worth of emergency preparedness experience in the local public health field as well as experience with facilitation, community engagement, and providing trainings such as CPR, Psychological First Aid, and Personal and Family Preparedness in All Seasons.

    Dr. Lisa Cronk is a pediatrician at Metropolitan Pediatrics. She is a graduate of Mayo Medical School and completed her pediatric residency at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Cronk has a special interest in newborn care, as well as community and parent education. Dr. Cronk has two sons and one daughter. She enjoys playing with her children, photography, reading, and playing piano.


    Grandparent Childcare: Tips for Parents and Grandparents

    Debra Goebel, a licensed parent educator, brings over three decades of experience to her role. Recently retired from the Bloomington ELS program, she now spends her days caring for her 10-month-old grandchild four days a week. With a passion for nurturing and guiding children, Debra is dedicated to providing a loving and supportive environment for her grandchild's growth and development.

    Choosing Baby Gear: Containers, High Chairs and Shoes, Oh My!

    Learn about necessary and unnecessary baby gear from boppy pillows to shoes from birth to toddler years. Discuss the best options for what you need, the benefits, and safety considerations.

    Trista Moore, PT, DPT is a pediatric physical therapist with Family Achievement Center. Trista received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Concordia University, St. Paul and her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science from St. Catherine University. Trista has been a physical therapist for 6 years. Trista loves to educate parents and caregivers on development so that they can also feel empowered to help their children succeed.


    Early Intervention: Birth to 3

    Join us for an informative session on the "Birth to 3" program, designed to address parental concerns regarding their child's development. Discover the program's purpose, the assistance it offers, and what to anticipate during home visits. Gain insights from a mother who has benefited from this support, as she shares her firsthand experience.

    Presenter info

    Alison, an early childhood special education teacher with 5 years of experience, currently serves on the Early Intervention-Birth to 3 Team in Bloomington. Holding a Master’s of Education in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of St. Thomas, she was drawn to early intervention after experiencing firsthand support for her sons. Referred via Help Me Grow by Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) teachers, Alison found life-changing support that sparked a career change. Passionate about early intervention, she finds fulfillment in assisting families with very young learners as they navigate early development.

    Jeannine brings 13 years of experience as an Early Intervention Teacher (Birth to 3) with Bloomington Schools. Holding a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Minnesota, she transitioned from her previous role as an Elementary School Social Worker. Witnessing firsthand the invaluable support provided by the Early Intervention program, Jeannine is passionate about recognizing and meeting the individual needs and priorities of families for their children’s development.

    East Side Neighborhood Development Company’s (ESNDC) LeadSafe MN

    We offer FREE in-home lead assessments, mobile blood lead testing for children and pregnant women, lead presentations, education and outreach regarding lead-based paint hazards, and a referral to the Window Replacement Program in Hennepin County.


    Early Childhood Family Education/Early Learning Services

    We aim to ensure our youngest learners are kindergarten-ready and have a strong foundation for lifelong learning.


    Family Achievement Center

    Family Achievement Center treats infants and strives to empower parents/caregivers to be a part of their child meeting their milestones. We offer high quality occupational, physical and speech therapy services to both children and adults. Our mission is to provide hope to families and improve lives.


    The Health Commons at Pond

    We are a free and charitable clinic with resources for immunizations, healthcare, and health education opened to Bloomington Schools students and families at no cost. Care is provided by Minnesota State University, Mankato faculty and Family Nurse Practitioner-level nursing students, in collaboration with other providers as needed.


    Hennepin County Child and Teen Checkups

    Our program promotes preventative health and dental visits for children, teens and young adults up to age 21 who reside in Hennepin County. Our staff can promote, educate and assist families and young adults in getting in for those visits if needed.


    Hennepin County Human Services

    The Hennepin County Human Services Community Outreach team organizes various community engagement initiatives throughout our nine focus areas within Human Services. These areas include Children & Family Services, Well-Being, Child Support, Economic Supports, Housing Stability, Safe Communities, Aging, Access and Disabilities, and Behavioral Health. Our primary aim is to disseminate information about our programs, resources, and services to residents while facilitating connections to stability resources. Additionally, we offer engaging activities, distribute fun giveaways, and provide Human Services brochures in multiple languages.


    Hennepin County Project Child

    We provide specialized support to pregnant individuals working on their sobriety. Our services are unique and allow parents to seek help without fear of judgement. We assist parents in accessing necessary resources and equip them with tools to effectively advocate for themselves. Our objective is to prevent Child Protective Services involvement, or if intervention becomes necessary, to facilitate a smoother transition for all parties involved.


    Hennepin Health

    We are a county-owned health plan for Hennepin County residents who qualify for Medical Assistance and MNCare. We hope to connect and engage with community to provide information about health coverage, options, where to get assistance, and how to understand their benefits.


    Metropolitan Pediatrics

    Metro Peds is a pediatric practice providing care for newborns in the Twin Cities metro (3 offices in Burnsville, Shakopee, Edina). We are dedicated to educating parents and families from birth through early adulthood. We provide a free online baby class once per month for any families interested.


    Parents In Community Action (PICA) Head Start

    Established in 1969, PICA has provided services to low-income families, pregnant women, infants, toddlers and preschoolers for more than 50 years. PICA helps change the economic trajectory of the families they work with by taking a two-generational approach. Providing education and workforce development to parents is the best start we can offer a child. PICA offers several Head Start program options to meet families’ needs.


    Tod Pod Playgroup

    Tod Pod is a playgroup for families with children from birth through five years old who live in or near Bloomington, Minnesota. We provide a regular schedule of things to do with pre-school age children, making it easier than ever to get out the door with a young family. Adults come as they are and are welcomed into a community of others in a similar situation.
