The City of Bloomington works to maintain and improve the health and quality of our surface waters - lakes, ponds, wetlands and streams.
Bloomington is an urban ecosystem and our surface waters, particularly ponds, are under a lot of stress.
There are several ways to be Water Wise and it starts by understanding the effect of the urban environment on water quality and what you can do to help.
Many of the impacts on water quality come from the actions and activities of those living, working, and recreating in the area.
Residents and other community members can help maintain healthy surface waters. The most helpful actions might depend on where you live in the City, whether you own/rent property, or even your favorite hobbies.
To ensure that residents are able to participate in improving surface water quality, the City wants to hear from you to understand the needs, expectations, and barriers of residents.
