Funding Award Announced

In June 2025 the City was notified that the Stanley Avenue Sidewalk project was selected for funding award in the 2025 Minnesota Safe Routes to School funding solicitation.

Engineering staff will begin the design for the project to construct sidewalk on Stanley Avenue. From the preliminary designs presented at the public meetings in December 2024, further plan development will continue with the design that includes the following:

• Narrowing of the roadway (moving the west curb line toward the east);
• Constructing a new 6' sidewalk with grass boulevard, west of the new west curb;
• Restrict parking to one side of the road;

This project is anticipated to be programmed for construction in summer 2026. Once the project plans are prepared there will be an informational meeting to share details on the project and answer resident questions.
