The City hired The Morris Leatherman Company (MLC) to conduct a randomized survey of Bloomington businesses with the goal of using feedback to address issues that are important to the local business community. The City worked with MLC to determine the areas of focus for questions and MLC wrote the questions and will conduct the phone calls to ask these questions. If you receive a call from MLC, please take the time to let the City know your thoughts. All responses will be anonymous and aggregated for analysis and reporting. The survey is expected to take place in June and July.
MLC will choose about 400 businesses using random sampling. At least twenty tries are made to contact the chosen business during a seven day period before an alternate business is substituted. The telephone calls take place during various times on weekdays. MLC interviewers will make convenient appointments with the interviewees – business owners or managers. The questionnaire will be administered by MLC trained and supervised personnel and will be conducted in English, Hmong, Somali and Spanish. To ensure the integrity of the sample, MLC places the most exacting sampling standards in the industry on their procedures. The City of Bloomington will be presented with the final report with results aggregated and anonymous.
