reducing waste year round

I am going to pay more attention to the bottom/back of the freezer when I am meal planning. I'm going to take a look at it before making my shopping list! There's a lot in there that I can use before getting more food.

I just loaned out my small compost bin to a neighbor, along with a green compost bag, so that they can try it out. My neighbor is then going to place the compost bag in my large container for pick-up. I even told this neighbor to take advantage of this opportunity to clean out her refrigerator. I am going to offer this idea for anyone who is undecided about composting, or has a spouse who is against it, or just hasn't gotten around to trying it, or doesn't believe it to be easy to do. My organics reduction goal is: place a small compost bag in the bathrooms to help collect paper products there for ease of adding to our composting (and then posting a photo on the "share page") and also bringing bags to the grocery store for items I don't use paper bags.
