Old Shakopee Rd & Old Cedar Ave is a gateway to our community, with great businesses and access to nature. The City of Bloomington is working with local businesses at this key commercial center to provide resources for some quick-build improvements that will make this area even more welcoming and appealing, and build momentum toward future public realm investments.

A survey was conducted in August 2022 to help shape the vision for Old Shakopee Rd & Old Cedar Avenue. Survey results are available here.

Thank you to all who participated in and attended the Colors of Community: Local Business and Community Pop-Up on October 1! The event included live music from Pan Dimensions, face painting and other activities, a bounce house, and great food from the Eagles, D’s Kitchen and Gyro Grill.

Here are some examples of upcoming projects taking place at local businesses in this area. Watch out for them this winter and spring:

  • Storefront façade update
  • New signage
  • Paint touch up
  • Customized picnic tables and bench
  • Potted plants and landscaping
  • Patio heater
