On September 18th, 2023, the Bloomington City Council approved changing the speed limit for local/neighborhood streets to 25 MPH. Staff are proposing speed limit changes for larger city streets next.
The proposed changes have been informed by the context of existing roadways, feedback already received from the Neighborhood Transportation Management Plan (NTMP) engagement, past and recent studies regarding effective speed limits, and engineering judgement.
