In February 2023, Barr Engineering Company completed a feasibility study which evaluated seven potential sites and determined that Tarnhill Park met all site screening requirements. Well 7 will provide raw water capacity to the City’s Water Treatment Plant to help serve present and future water needs of the community.

This site will provide informational updates of the project over the lifecycle of the project.

How will the construction impact Little Rd area residents' access abilities and water supply?

    CR asked 6 months ago

No impacts to city water access or residential access are anticipated. There will be small road disturbances, but none of these should impede road use or access to property. The method of installation (horizontal directional drilling) was chosen to minimize disruptions that would normally occur in a traditional open cut installation.

Where is the current well located?

Thank you for your question. The existing well is sited near the water treatment plant. Both the rehabilitation of this well and the use of the existing site have been deemed infeasible.

Thank you for your question. The FAQ has been updated with a location description.

New raw watermain will be installed via a trenchless method as opposed to an open cut trench. This will minimize impacts to the road and eliminate the need to resurface the entire road. The schedule is highly sensitive to an unpredictable permitting process, but raw watermain construction is currently anticipated between September 2024 and June 2025.

We live on the corner of 98th and Little with view of Tarnhill park. First we are hearing of this, and quite concerned. Moved here to grow our family, and view of the park. 3 young kids. Also, why is the noise not a concern on this side of the park? Thank you. on Facebook Share Would like more information about what this entails. Thank you for your question. Additional information on location and site appearance have been added to the FAQ.

The discussion of noise during pump operation in the FAQ was left over from when a traditional wellhouse was being considered, and has now been removed. A pitless style well has since been selected to both minimize the site footprint and virtually eliminate operating noise.
