On March 14th at 9:00 a.m. the Fire Department will turn over the existing fire station to begin the year long project to demolish and reconstruction Fire Station 4 located at 4201 W 84th St.

During this period the Construction Management Team, Terra Construction, will have a job trailer and laydown yard across the street at the Wanda Miller Pond Site. To accommodate parking for the construction crews, St. Stephens Church has graciously offered their parking lot for weekday use.

During construction it is anticipated that the sidewalk in front of the fire station will remain closed to pedestrian traffic with proper signage notifying residents of the closure. The project team will be monitoring the traffic flow on this busy street and developing plans to minimize the disruption to motorists.

To provide continuous fire coverage for the area serviced by Fire Station 4 the department is staffing Station 1 and 6 with 24-hour three person duty crews to provide adequate response time to the area.
